It’s been a number of years since I’ve purchased anything from the Coach brand.   For me, the brand simply became too mass marketed and banal.  My sentiments were further hightened when counterfeiters started imitating the trademark “C” logo on bags, footwear, etc.

This is why I’m glad that Coach has started to step out with different styles.  First it started when Coach launched the girly poppy  line.  I’m also quite fond of these cap-toe flats with jumbled “Coach” ornament on the toe.   The shoes are cute and clearly Coach, but different than the typical Coach styles.

TOMS Shoes is a footwear brand with a humanitarian angle.  For every pair of shoes purchased, TOMS donates a pair of new shoes to a child in need.  The company’s motto is “One for One.”   But let’s face it, up until now, their classic shoe styles haven’t exactly made the cute, stylish or trendy category.

With the launch of TOMS Shoes in a wedge silhouette, that has changed.  Now you can look good and feel good knowing you are giving a pair of shoes to a child in need. Saks no longer has it a few short weeks after it was in the window, but here’s to hoping they’ll bring it back! Perhaps more are just being produced!! Here’s to hoping, because I’d spend my whole bonus on this.

In my last post I rounded up my favorite spring shoes from a recent trip to Saks Fifth Avenue! While shopping I noticed a trend that I am ready to endorse: metallics! There is just something undeniably chic and weather-appropriate about metallics complemented by a glowing tan (preferably fake for people who care about their health!). I am partial to gold shoes, but subtler metallics are also catching my eye. Without further ado, here are my favorite metallic shoes courtesy of Saks!

These Jimmy Choo Wedges are everything I want in a sandal – gold and a low wedge heel!

I was recently shopping with a friend and we both agreed that we wish we lived an Oscar de la Renta kind of life! These gold heels courtesy of Mr. de la Renta are a bit subtler in tone, but pack a punch in style and height.

Gladiators still seem to be everywhere, so why not a metallic gladiator!

I have an inexplicable love for Juicy Couture, so I couldn’t resist loving these sandals.

And finally, the cutest metallic flats ever! I love how Jimmy Choo updated and embellished the basic flat!

Subtlety was not Gianni Versace’s middle name. His loud, colorful Miami colors are enough to guide a landing plane in the right direction. But the shoes for this spring are, while showy, playful at the same time.
